We’ve had a fantastic first year and thoroughly looking forward to working on more projects in the New Year!
This year projects that have been completed or are in progress are:
- Tai Chi in the Park - we hosted 2 free Tai Chi sessions outdoors and both were extremely well attended
- Wildlife Boxes - We were granted funding in October for some special wildlife boxes which will be painted by local community groups and form a trail around the park for visitors in January 2020. Will you be able to find them all?
- Picnic in the Park - we ran a successful stall at Picnic in the Park 2019 and used the opportunity to run a survey asking people what they would like to see us do in the park. We have a whopping 206 responses!

Our ongoing projects which we are currently in the planning stages for and looking for funding next year are:
Playground Equipment – we are very excited to be driving forward plans to update the playground equipment. We plan to apply for grants to enable us to fund an exciting, new, all inclusive playspace.
Community/Sensory Garden – the second item you told us you would like to see on the survey was a community garden. We would like to replace the largely unused area to the back of the park with a sensory and community area and again will be looking for funding to complete this.
Park Improvement – The last project which still requires much discussion & consultation before proceeding would be to incorporate the field at the rear of the park/ off Victoria road into the main park area. This field is actually already part of the part of the park but feels completely separate due to the layout and fencing. Although it would be largely open space this would create a much wider area for joggers and dog walkers with paths and benches. Additional planting and trees would be included to turn a largely barren field into a wildlife haven and a nice place to walk.
