Fun for Families

The Wildlife Box Trail is the first project the Friends of Coalville Park has been working on. We wish to create a trail around the park of 10 bird, bee and bat boxes. Each box will be painted by a local community group and will be numbered. We will encourage local people and families to go looking for the boxes to see if they can spot them all and run a competition for 4 weeks for those who've found them. After consultation on social media and discussion with local business we submitted an application for funding from the NWL Council Community Chest. On 29th October we were delighted to hear the news that our application was successful and we have now asked Men in Sheds Charnwood to begin making the boxes. Watch this space for more news on the boxes!

Update 30/01/20 We are delighted to have received the boxes now. They have been made so well we were blown away by the craftmanship from Men & Women in Sheds a charity in Loughborough helping to keep older people active and provide a hobby https://www.ageuk.org.uk/leics/our-services/helping-you-stay-healthy-and-well/men-in-sheds/

These will now be delivered to local schools and community groups for decoration. We cannot wait to see them!!
