OUR WILDLIFE BOX TRAIL IN COALVILLE PARK is now open!
Fun for Families
The Wildlife Box Trail was the first project the Friends of Coalville Park have completed. We have created a trail around the park of 10 bird, bee and bat boxes. Each box has been painted by a local school or community group and will be numbered on the bottom. We would love for local people and families to go looking for the boxes to see if they can spot them all.
Can you spot them all?
As you go round you'll see that each box is numbered. You can fill in either the online or the downloadable form with the numbers to check if you've missed any. Although our competition is now closed why not give the kids a treat if they can find all 10 boxes? 🙂 It's a great way to get out into the fresh air and spend some time together as a family.
We would like to thank North West Leicestershire District Council for their support and for funding this project via the Community Chest Grant. We would also like to thank Men & Women in Sheds Charnwood who made these outstanding boxes for us. We were blown away by the craftmanship from this charity which helps to keep older people active by providing a hobby and teaching a new skill. You can find out more about them here https://www.ageuk.org.uk/leics/our-services/helping-you-stay-healthy-and-well/men-in-sheds/
We would also like to thank all the groups and schools who decorated a box for us. They are Broom Leys Primary School, Belvoirdale Primary School, Hugglescote Community Primary School, Coalville Heritage Society, 3rd Coalville Brownies, Choices for Life, Coalville Children & Family Centre, Christchurch, 1188 Coalville Air Cadets & of course our beloved Amy from Friends of Coalville Park 🙂 Thankyou all the boxes look wonderful and will leave a legacy for future generations to enjoy.
We hope you enjoy the Wildlife Box Trail!
